Through a secure process, CorEvitas utilizes an encryption engine to create tokens for registry patients when linking claims data.
The de-identification engine performs two functions: de-identification of the data (removal and/or modification of patient information) and insertion of encrypted patient tokens. Matching tokens can be used to link a patient’s record in one dataset with a record for the same patient in a different set, without ever exposing the protected health information of that patient.
